Explore the Outdoors at These 3 Sarasota Gardens

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens

The Marie Selby Botanical Gardens are a sight to behold. Make some time during your visit to Sarasota to stop by and enjoy a stroll through its enchanting gardens. Since its opening to the public in 1975, the gardens have hosted thousands of visitors from all over the world and are home to one of the most impressive collections of tropical plants. Take a peek at the impressive Banyan Grove, explore the Mangrove Walkway, have a leisurely walk through the Bromeliad Garden, and marvel at the colorful scenery of the Butterfly Garden. The orchid displays are outstanding! The gardens are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tip: If you happen to have young kids or grandchildren, make sure you take them to the Children’s Rainforest Garden! They’ll love the waterfall, forest pool, and canopy rope bridge!

The Ringling

Another garden we particularly love to recommend is located at the Ringling Museum. The Bayfront Gardens are ideal to enjoy a break after getting your dose of art indoors. One of the best ways to explore them is to hop on a guided tour. Follow your guide into these whimsical botanical gardens and learn about the local flora and fauna. The tour takes around 90 minutes to complete and covers a mile, so make sure you’re wearing comfortable footwear!

Sarasota Jungle Gardens

If you want to spice things up a bit, head over to the Sarasota Jungle Gardens! They’re also a fantastic local option if you have little ones in your party. There, you can discover beautiful tropical gardens along with colorful and exciting animal species. Walk by a waterfall, hand-feed flamingos, venture into the jungle, and even talk to parrots!
