An Update From Florida Vacation Connection
It is with a positive outlook that we wish to address guests regarding the Coronavirus. With a well established rental business on the West Coast of Florida, often in the path of uncertainty, Florida Vacation Connection is familiar with adjusting our standard operating procedures to address the safety of our greatly valued guests.
Preventing The Spread of Coronavirus
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), while it is possible a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface, the virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. Our goal at Florida Vacation Connection is always to ensure the health and safety for our guests, homeowners and staff. Our carefully selected housekeepers have always maintained a high standard of cleanliness in our properties. In light of the recent outbreak of Coronavirus, we have strengthened protocols for sanitization and disinfection to mirror those of CDC recommended guidelines.
Executive Orders For Travel Ban / Vacation Rentals
On Friday, March 27th, Gov. DeSantis issued an Executive Order enacting a statewide ban on vacation rentals. The order has suspended all new vacation rentals in Florida for the next 14 days, but allowing those guests already here to finish their trip. Florida Vacation Connection is following this order and keeping a close eye on developments that pertain to travel bans.
Locally, Sarasota and Manatee Counties have closed public beaches, boat ramps, dine-in restaurants (take out available), recreation and nature centers until April 12th. We will certainly keep you informed as these and other travel related issues are addressed by local and state governments.
We want our customers to have something to look forward to when the safety and convenience of travel is no longer compromised. Our cancellation policy has been amended to accommodate a situation that evolves daily. So whether it’s a family trip this summer, last minute road trip, or perhaps a professional looking for a gorgeous backdrop to work remotely… Longboat Key and Lido Key are places that guests have come for generations to enjoy our stretches of quaint, white sandy beaches to gain solitude and relaxation. As long as the sun rises over the bay and beautifully sets on the Gulf every day, that peace with nature remains.
Keep in mind as you make your travel plans following COVID-19, that you as a traveler may want more control over the environment where you will be staying. One of the great benefits a vacation rental offers is providing guests with their own space. It’s private, limited to those whom you invite to join you. Relax without interruptions, prepare your own healthy meals, enjoy amenities such as a private pool, washer / dryer, and have a much more personal, relaxing retreat than a hotel experience.
Existing Reservations: We want to provide our guests with as much flexibility and assistance as possible. We have adjusted our cancellation policy so guests can reschedule their vacation, applying payments previously made, without a change-fee. We encourage you to contact our office to discuss future dates. In consideration of every guests’ individual situation, refunds with minimal cancellation penalties are also being issued.
We are working hard to continually stay current and reevaluate our guest policies as needed in the current situation. Ultimately, we want our guests to have the flexibility to make whatever decision makes them feel safe.
We look forward to providing you with the same service our guests have known to rely on for over 25 years and invite you to get in touch so we can fulfill your travel needs. Our company (and community) are very grateful for your business and are here to answer any questions you may have.
