CoronaVirus (COVID-19) Cleaning and Sanitization Process for Our Vacation Rentals
The outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is an unprecedented situation. We are keeping a close eye on the situation through announcements from the CDC, WHO, and Florida Department of Health. We’re following the recommendations of these entities regarding our approach to business. At Florida Vacation Connection, providing safe and clean environments for our guests is always a top priority – even more so today. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, and want you to feel at ease while staying in our homes.
We’re maintaining our existing high standards of cleanliness and providing additional COVID-19 guidance to our housekeeping partners about proper disinfection techniques consistent with the CDC and Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation published guidelines. We have enhanced our cleaning toolbox to include processes and cleaning products that are especially effective at combating COVID-19 provided by the EPA. They include:
- High Touch Areas – Special attention is paid to disinfect “high-touch” areas, such as doorknobs, remote control devices, bathroom taps, door handles, toilet handles, keypads and locks.
- Sanitization of Linens – Enhanced protocols are followed to ensure that all linens are sanitized according to CDC specifications including protective pillow covers, mattress pads, sheets and bed covers. We have removed decorative pillows and extra blankets to insure all used linens are being properly cleaned and sanitized for additional safety.
- Protective Gear – Housecleaning, maintenance, and inspection teams are wearing masks and gloves when in rentals.
- Housekeeping Training – Housekeeping teams use cleaning products that meet CDC/EPA guidelines approved and effective for use against virus, bacteria and other pathogens.
- Unit Inspection – Each unit will be inspected before arrive using our cleaning and inspection checklist exceeding the requirements outlined in the VRHP Professional Standards.
