While searching for "Old Florida", it is highly recommended that you head North to Anna Maria Island. The charm on the island is similar to Key West. Flip flops and tank tops are the uniform. While you make your way through the Island, stop by the Rod & Reel Pier Restaurant. The eatery is located on the second floor of a tackle shop at the end of a private pier facing the Sunshine Skyway.
Although you can get seafood everywhere in Florida, The Rod & Reel is known for very fresh seafood at a very affordable price. Plus, you can't beat the location. Locals fish off the pier during the day and eat there in the evening. It is also known for a great breakfast to start your day.
You won't be disappointed if you go and the experience is great all year!
