Longboat Key for The Holidays
Just because there is no snow on the ground doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the holidays on Longboat Key. There are plenty of events for you to enjoy your holidays in the sunshine. The season kicks off on Friday, December 1st, at the St. Armands Circle Holiday Night of Lights (www.starmandscircleassoc.com). The Circle and Circle Park magically come to life as the Circle "lights up" with thousands of white lights and lighted silhouette decorations! The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. with the lighting of St. Armands FOUR STORY Christmas tree and a performance by the West Coast Children's Gospel Choir. The lights will be there for the rest of the season. In the evening on Saturday, December 9th, come down to the Sarasota downtown waterfront to watch the 20th Annual Boat Parade of Lights. On December 14th, you can attend the Holiday Splendor event at the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art (www.ringling.org). In the spirit of the season, the Museum offers extended evening hours for visitors to enjoy the holiday decorations and tour the Cà d'Zan, Circus Museum, and Museum of Art. Throughout the month of December, you can attend a performance of PLAID TIDINGS, a yuletide twist on FOREVER PLAID at the Golden Apple Dinner Theatre (www.thegoldenapple.com) in downtown Sarasota. To top off your season, attend a performance of The Nutcracker performed by the Sarasota Ballet of Florida (www.sarasotaballet.org).

Whenever you arrive, you can enjoy your Florida holiday experience on the shores of sunny Longboat Key.
