Suncoast Offshore Grand Prix
APBA Offshore boat racing returns to Sarasota in July as part of a series of boat racing events. Sarasota's events are scheduled for June 24 - July 4 to benefit the Florida Center for Child & Family Services.
Events to take place in Sarasota include parades, bed races, bikini contests, baseball games, fishing tournaments and more.
2006 Events include:
Tee Off for Charity, Saturday, June 24, at 8 am. Stoneybrook Golf Club at Heritage Harbour, Bradenton. Call 941-8820 ext. 1800 to sign up.
Kick Off Gala, Saturday, June 24, 7 pm - 1 am. Roberts Arena.
Fishing Tournament for the Challenged, Tuesday, June 27, 9 am - 1 pm. Outboard Club City Island.
World's Largest Offshore Party, Thursday, June 29, 8 pm - 1 am. $10 at the door. Hyatt Sarasota.
Parade of Boats Down Main Street, Sarasota, Friday, June 30, at 6 pm followed by Main Street Merchants Block Party.
Driver/Sponsor Party & Concert Event at Robarts Arena/Sarasota County Fairgrounds, Friday, June 30, Doors open at 7 pm/Music 8 pm to Midnight - $15 at the door.
Powerboat Dry Pit Party at Sarasota Fairgrounds, Motorcycle “Patriotic Poker Run” & Bike Show, Car Show, and Powerboats on Display, Saturday, July 1, All Day 10 am - 10 pm Poker Run begins at 9 am - last bike out 10:30 am.
Offshore Grand Prix, July 2, 2005, Gulf of Mexico, 11 am and 1 pm, Viewing
from Lido Beach only. Course runs from New Pass to Big Pass. Powerboat Dry Pit Party Race Awards Ceremony - Potter Building Sarasota Fairgrounds.
Fireworks on Sarasota Bayfront - July 4 at 9 pm
