Getting Here

Longboat Key is on Florida’s West Coast. The island is approximately 60 miles south of Tampa and 90 miles north of Fort Myers. Interstate 75 and US 41 (Tamiami Trail) are the major routes into the area. Longboat Key can be accessed by bridge from either the south or north end of the island; the Florida Vacation Connection office is right in the middle of the Key at 3720 Gulf of Mexico Drive.

From the North:
If you are coming from Tampa International Airport or St. Petersburg International Airport, take I-275 until it merges with I-75, just a few miles south of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. Take I-75 to Exit 210 /Fruitville Road (formerly exit #39); turn right (west) onto Fruitville Road. Follow Fruitville Road west for 6 miles to US 41; turn left onto US 41. Move quickly into the right-hand lane. Turn right at the stoplight (Gulfstream Blvd.), going over the Ringling Causeway Bridge. Continue to the large traffic circle at St. Armand’s Circle; stay in the right-hand lane. Follow signs to Longboat Key, tuning on to 789 North. You will pass over another bridge onto Longboat Key; 789 will be named Gulf of Mexico Drive. Continue driving approximately 6.5 miles. The Florida Vacation Connection office is on the right.

From the South:
Take I-75 north to Exit 210/Fruitville Road (formerly exit #39); turn right (west) onto Fruitville Road. Follow Fruitville Road west for 6 miles to US 41; turn left onto US 41. Move quickly into the right-hand lane. Turn right at the stoplight (Gulfstream Blvd.), going over the Ringling Causeway Bridge. Continue to the large traffic circle at St. Armand’s Circle; stay in the right-hand lane. Follow signs to Longboat Key, tuning on to 789 North. You will pass over another bridge onto Longboat Key; 789 will be named Gulf of Mexico Drive. Continue driving approximately 6.5 miles. The Florida Vacation Connection office is on the right.

From Sarasota International Airport
Exit the airport and turn right onto University Parkway. Proceed about 300 yards and turn left onto US 41 (Tamiami Trail). Follow US 41 for about 4 miles; turn right at the stoplight at John Ringling Boulevard, going over the Ringling Causeway Bridge. Continue to the large traffic circle at St. Armand’s Circle; stay in the right-hand lane. Follow signs to Longboat Key, tuning on to 789 North. You will pass over the bridge onto Longboat Key; 789 will be named Gulf of Mexico Drive. Continue driving 6.5 miles. The Florida Vacation Connection office is on the right.
