Beautiful downtown Sarasota by the waterfront

Local Sarasota Shopping

Invariably the question is asked - where can I go to shop? Shopping in Sarasota means different things for different people, but you can definitely shop to your heart's content while here. We offer everything from the small, personal boutiques of Main Street and St. Armand's to Saks Fifth Avenue and Dillard's.

St. Armand's Circle

John Ringling himself was involved in developing St. Armand's Circle, which he envisioned to be a shopping and dining mecca one day. His dream has been realized in this diverse continental marketplace. The stylish Circle is bustling with sidewalk cafes and boutiques; you will also find upscale art galleries such as The Wyland Gallery, chic fashion and footwear, stunning jewelry, gift and specialty shops as well as hair salons and day spas. Exploring St. Armand's will take several hours at least, so dress comfortably and be ready to be inspired.

Burns Square

When locals introduce first-time visitors to Sarasota, this historic district is one of our go-to places. Located just south of downtown, this lively area boasts a funky mix of antique stores to explore, gift shops for unique selections, trendy restaurants and galleries. The ambiance is especially fun and festive on the monthly "First Friday" walks. Burns Square also has an indy movie theater and is completely urban chic in vibe.

Downtown Sarasota Main Street / Palm Avenue

The center of Sarasota's popular downtown is known as Five Points. This vibrant business district is filled with a wide selection of boutiques and outdoor cafes. Palm Avenue is home to many art galleries as well as luxurious antique stores. Downtown Sarasota continually surprises visitors with its small town, friendly feel and interesting array of shops; and simply going for a walk down Main Street is a great way to spend the day.

University Town Center

This grand dame of shopping malls is new to Sarasota and opened in 2014. UTC offers a large array of distinctive merchants; and retail experiences tailored to the lifestyle of Sarasota's diverse residents and visitors. Located on University Parkway, this mall also has diverse dining opportunities ranging from a quick bite to gourmet.

Ellenton Outlet Mall

For those in search of deep discount bargains, the Outlets is where to find them. You'll be surprised at the quality and quantity of shops; from Nike, Brooks Brothers and Ralph Lauren to Lacoste, Coach, Kenneth Cole, Lucky Brand and Michael Kors. Extraordinary savings - it is always worth the 30 minute trip!
